The second month we doubled sales to $150K, but "it wasn't enough"...so to "teach us a lesson" Our boss took away all of our chairs...FOREVER!!!
I was hired in the online sales division of a local nonprofit. I joined in an effort to raise more money for the cause.
We launched the websites in February and was told that our yearly sales goal was $1 Million dollars...an easy goal since our first month we did over $75K.
What my boss failed to tell me was that even though the $1M sales goal was for a 12 month period, their fiscal year ended in September and we still had to meet the $1Million dollar goal...in 3 months.
So the first month after launch and doing $75K, we were all proud of ourselves, but we were all written up because "it wasn't enough"
The second month we doubled sales to $150K, but "it wasn't enough"...so to "teach us a lesson" Our boss took away all of our chairs...FOREVER!!!
Yes, we were in the ecommerce department, with NO CHAIRS, hunched over our desks working on computers all day long.
The boss then submitted job description changes on all of us to make our jobs "standing only" positions. One of our employees was disabled and wasn't able to stand and since it was now a "standing only" position, I was required to fire her for not being able to stand at her desk.
Needless to say, I quit instead of firing her.
